Connecting Children to the Land in Jacksboro

The Richards Ranch, known for its conservation, sustainability efforts, and resource improvements hosted their fifth Kids On the Land program this spring. The owners of this ranch have generously donated the use of their land and other resources to enable the 3rd, 4th and 5th graders from the Jacksboro ISD to participate in the program.

Leaders from the Jacksboro Community come together every year with the owners of the Richards Ranch to become “LINKS” (Learning In Nature With Kids) for the Kids On the Land Program. Other LINKS travel across Texas to teach with us. Children participating in the program are learning about the specific eco-region where they live, connecting them to the land, it’s resources and a more sustainable future. They are learning a true love for the land and becoming better stewards along the way!
