If you are a landowner who has an interest in reconnecting kids to the land, please contact us. Your site does not have to be large. The site does not have to have many facilities although bathrooms are important. Port-a-potties work well if the real thing is not available.
Aldo Leopold, in his essay, “The Land Ethic,” wrote that it is impossible “that an ethical relation to the land can exist without love, respect and admiration for the land, and a high regard for its value.” Kids can’t love their place if they don’t know anything about it.
Kids On the Land “KOL” is a unique Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) environmental program designed to teach children about the region where they live, connecting them to the land and a more sustainable future.
The program is presented in during the Spring and Fall school semesters and in 2017.
